Social Frequency Analysis of University Students via Digital Campus Cards

In a normal digital campus card system, three kinds of data have been collected, which are consuming records, entry records, and book borrowing records. Many researches have used them to study capability distribution and campus movement trajectory. In this paper, we propose a method to describe social relationships and predict social frequencies based on students' behavior habits and routines through campus card data, which can be used to support personalized education service and university management. Inquiries show that the social frequency values correctly estimate social frequencies of university students. The proposed method of calculating social frequency values provide an automatic manner to find out the social inadequate students who require guidance from teachers. It can also help find the best candidates for cadres, especially in outreach divisions, and can possibly be used in career choice guidance.
