Power efficiency and power quality in residential lighting system

This article aims to analyze the electrical efficiency and power quality effects of the swap of incandescent bulbs for fluorescent bulbs in low-income Consumer Units. This article uses computer simulation, applying software in Excel, to analyze the implementation of the energy efficiency project in low-income households. The program uses measurements made on a sample of the total benefitted consumers. The data feed the program with values of energy saved and reduction of average demand at the end, providing, along with information of the tariff system and the technical data of the public utility company, project Benefit Cost Ratio, allowing for calculation of technical and economic feasibility.
