An evaluation method on the comprehensive benefit of hybrid series compensation

Compared with conventional fixed compensation facility, the FACTS device such as TCSC has more excellent performance of control, but the cost of construction and operation is very high. Therefore, the hybrid compensation scheme which is the use of FACTS devices combined with conventional fixed devices is becoming an inevitable solution. Accordingly, a method on comprehensive benefit evaluation is proposed for different configuration schemes which satisfy the operation of power system. The model of evaluation is founded, the formula is deduced, and the solution algorithm is brought. Finally, the reasonability and validity is verified by a real case which is focused on large scaled wind power and the problem of abandon.
