Locating and sizing of dispersed wind generation in active distributed system

The location and sizing of distributed generation (DG) have great influence on distribution network. Issues on locating and sizing of dispersed wind generation(DWG) are discussed in this paper. The network loss index and voltage stability index are analyzed as objective function in detail to reduce the network loss and improve voltage quality effectively. Sensitivity analysis method is first used to determine the location. Next, the access sizing of DWG is calculated using modern interior point method. And then in the second stage, increasing and replacement strategies are used to obtain the optimal configuration location and sizing of DWG. The results of PG & E69-node system tests indicate that the method proposed in this paper is possible for locating and sizing of DWG.
