Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to introduce a Transformational Leadership Corpus (TLC). Previous research identified the importance of transformational leadership for the team performance and employee job satisfaction. Some studies provided first evidence for the relationship between speech features and leadership perception (e.g. leaders with lower-voice pitch are preferred and perceived more dominant and strong). Due to missing of large speech corpora, we build the TLC consisting of 122 male speakers and a total duration of 29 hours of audio-visual data. The extracted feature sets contain among others subsets of formant position, formant bandwidth (F1-F5), intensity, fundamental frequency, and MFCC features. Results show significant associations of single feature subsets with perceived transformational leadership.
