A new type of microwave impedance tuner based on load-pull

Passive tuner is the core component of high-power load and source pull measurement system. However, traditional mechanical tuner is large in size and difficult to integrate. A small size, flexible, high precision and easy integration tuner is introduced in this paper based on transmission line, MEMS (Micro-electromechanical Systems) switch and adjustable capacitor. Simulations of ADS (Advanced Design System) software show that the structure can get accurate and large-scale impedances in high power and wide band applications.
