Abstract:
Thus far, a variety of techniques for recommending music have been proposed, but few attempts have been made to generate a playlist from music collections owned by multiple users. When situations where multiple people together, they often play background music (BGM) stored in individual devices owned by one or more users. However, because one user typically selects the music from a personal device, music preferences tend to be biased. It is preferred that the musical preferences of all the people be used to determine the background music (BGM). This could be achieved using the music in each individual's device. We describe a system that a system that generates a playlist that includes favorite songs from the musical pieces stored in other's devices so that all the people can enjoy songs they hadn't heard before. This music player that shares the music collections from various tablets via a network using Bluetooth®technology. In this system, musical pieces may be stored on the individual devices of various people, each of whom may have a different musical preference. Experimental results show that the playlist generated by this system will contain songs unknown to, but matching each individual's preferences.
