Third-harmonic generation enhancement by the interaction of few-cycle waves in nonlinear optical media

We perform the studies of non-collinear interaction of few-cycle waves in a medium with an instantaneous third-order nonlinearity. We show that such an interaction can lead to a significant enhancement of third-harmonic generation, even though there is no energy exchange between the interacting input waves.
