Design & implementation of bio-medical equipment with OSCAR EMR system

Use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for managing clinical data are growing Time by Time in India. Many hospitals and medical institutions are ready to adopt one or the other EMR application for their necessity of data management. However a greater drawback in their system remain in the performance that apart from medical past and other clinical data entered by the clinicians, proof-data like CAT scans, X-rays, PET-scans, Lab Results, etc. can't be stored in these systems. OSCAR (Open Source Clinical Application Resource) EMR is the robust open-source clinical data management system for the necessity of uploading proof-data in form or PDF, JPG, PNG file data format. It is challenging to translate the data output from different medical equipment's, into electronic computer readable data format, and pass it to a electronic computer system and then upload it to OSCAR EMR system. Also it necessity to translate the picture into specific representation of particular data format. This paper discourse a better way to complete the different medical equipment's directly with OSCAR EMR such as X-Ray machine, MRI machines, CAT scans, PET scans, Ultrasound. It enclose development of interfaces to turn the data from these equipment's into DICOM data format. It further enclose formation of easy to govern networks that will empower these DICOM data to be move to the OSCAR system. The patient's data will be obtainable through correspondent authentication procedure.
