Modelling & simulation OF SVC and statcom for enhancement of power system transient stability using Matlab

In the twentieth century we have to manage the power grid stability. So grid systems are activated closer to their predefined stability range because of some special reasons. Therefore to manage a stable and protected function of a power system is should be most important and challenging issue. The FACTS equipment take part in a very important role in enhancing the transient stability, enhancing transmission ability and to damp out low frequency oscillations. In this paper 3-bus power grid system network has been modeled using MATLAB Simulink software version 7.13. The power grid network under study comprises of three units of power plant every unit developing 20 KV and step up the voltage by two winding transformer to 230 KV. For shunt operation of two dissimilar power plants, the voltage to frequency ratio must be kept constant to keep away from circulating current in the proposed network. A Static VAR Compensator and a series compensator have been utilized in the proposed network for enhancing the transient stability and to enhance the transmission ability of the system.
