Identification of origitnal gold using Digital Image Processing

Advanced methods of quick and instant assaying precious metals and exact determination of metal contents becoming increasingly important for reliability and assured for getting original and pure metal objects. Cupellation is the method recognized worldwide for exact determination of gold and its contents. In contrast, gold contents measurement using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) Technique is faster and non-destructive. XRF can provide an efficient and more cost-efficient solution. But XRF spectrometers and Karat meters are not available at regional places because they are very expensive. This system is the statistical method based on Digital Image Processing using Matlab for identification of gold objects. This method is based on Statistical Parameter Estimation where a set of parameters is compared with the predefined parameters and with the help of tolerance matching technique one can identify the gold objects among several gold objects.
