Bionic communication by dolphin whistle with continuous-phase based on MSK modulation

Traditional underwater acoustic communication signal which sounds like an artificial made sound with a specified characteristic usually couldn't ensure the security of the communication. To overcome this problem, a bionic camouflage communication method is proposed. In this scheme, the information is modulated by MSK algorithm, and the MSK signal is marking on the original dolphin whistle contour. Then based on this synthesis contour, we transform it into a time series signal which sounds like the original dolphin whistle. At receiver, the matching pursuit (MP) algorithm is used for channel estimation and virtual time reversal mirror (VTRM) is used to reduce the multipath interference. After extracting the MSK signal by maximum extracting method, the information is recovered by MSK demodulation. The feasibility of the proposed method is verified by simulation.
