Analysis of nanoscale voids in nanorod plasmonic clusters for imaging applications

A parametric study is performed on the resonance plasmon scattering modes of nanoscale voids within a metallic nano-rod, in terms of the voids' presence, radius, and position, by implementing total-field/scattered-field (TF/SF) in finite-difference time-domain (FDTD). The study is then extended to investigating voids within clusters of metallic nano-rods. A technique is accordingly developed to employ the found results in imaging applications.
