Decentralized interval observer-based control for a class of nonlinear systems

This paper proposes an approach to the design of decentralized interval observer-based output feedback controllers for a class of nonlinear systems. In contrast to observers in the classical sense, the interval observer not only generates signals to stabilize the system based on output measurement, but also provides all times an interval in which the state vector is sure to lie. This paper shows how to introduce decentralized structure to the interval observer-based output feedback for stabilization of large-scale systems with decoupled communication. The notion of integral input-to-state stability is utilized successfully to achieve convergence of the state and the estimated interval to zero in the presence of disturbances.
