Wireless power transfer using free space photonics

This paper aims to develop a wireless power transfer module that provides uninterrupted power to the distant nodes. Wireless charging is now a promising challenge and so many researches are going on to provide an optimal solution. Wi-charging is a concept that uses laser as an optical source and this optical energy is used to charge the wireless devices. But the main disadvantage of this concept is low coverage area and it works only in indoor premises. Our proposed model uses free space optical communication where laser beam is used as a coherent source and photo detectors are used as sink. The main advantage of our proposed model is that it is also suitable to charge remotely placed wireless sensor nodes.
