A fuzzy controller for a DC/DC converter to integrate different power characteristic sources

Renewable energy sources are highly intermittent in nature and also has different power characteristics. It is difficult to integrate more than one renewable energy sources using a monolithic dual-input DC/DC converter circuit topology with a proper controller. A fuzzy control scheme is designed for the integration of two different nonlinear characteristic sources (like solar PV, wind) using a DC/DC converter. A simulation study is carried out to find the performance and suitability for accommodating two different V–I characteristics sources using a dual-input DC/DC converter with a fuzzy controller. The experimental results of a dual-input DC/DC converter in laboratory environment are presented in this paper.
