Optimization of the piezoelectric properties of uniaxially stretched polyvinylidene fluoride films corona poled at room and elevated temperatures

Recent work has shown that corona poling of stretched polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) films at elevated temperature considerably enhances piezoelectric properties [1,2]. Some three dozen applications of field or corona poled PVDF films are listed in a recent paper by Sessler [3]. These may be classified under the general headings of audio frequency, ultrasonic, underwater and electromechanical transducers and devices. Many new applications are in the development stage.
