Pulse injection of electromechanical systems

This paper considers the electronic failure mechanism known as upset. Upset represents a recoverable system failure. To properly understand upset one must consider the entire system of electronic control system and the thermal, mechanical and power systems that the electronics control. Injecting particular waveforms can cause the system to upset a incident power levels near operating levels. This paper will use injection into a Buck converter as an example and then outlines methods for treating automobile electronic control units controlling automobiles.
