Calibration of reflectance-based fiber-optic hydrophones

A method of calibration is presented for reflectance-based fiber-optic hydrophones, based on a model of the frequency response, with a validation step based on broad-band deconvolution of the detected signal from a pressure source with a known pressure spectrum. The advantage of this approach is that it will allow validation of user repairs, without requiring the hydrophone to be sent to a separate calibration facility.
