WNN-based robust total-sliding-mode control for the synchronization of uncertain chaotic systems

A wavelet neural network (WNN)-based robust total-sliding-mode control scheme is developed for the synchronization of uncertain chaotic systems. The proposed control system offers a design method to drive the state trajectory to track a desired trajectory, and it is comprised of an adaptive WNN controller and a robust compensator. The adaptive WNN controller acts as the principal tracking controller, which is designed to mimic the merits of a desired total-sliding-mode control law. The robust compensator is proposed to confront the uncertainties. Moreover, the proportional-integral (PI) adaptive laws of the control system are derived from the Lyapunov stability theorem, which are utilized to update the adjustable parameters of adaptive WNN controller for further assuring system stability and obtaining a fast convergence. Finally, the Lur'e-like nonlinear chaotic systems are performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
