Investigative analysis of bio-inspired robust controller for a CNC system

The prime objective of the present paper is to propose a bio-inspired robust controller to control the CNC system. The control objective is to design fuzzy controller optimizing its gains using genetic algorithm. The value of these gains has been evaluated by the genetic algorithm using different objective functions as well such as ITAE, ISE and IAE. Using each of the objective functions the robustness of the fuzzy controller has been observed using the simulation results. Observing the various simulation results it is clear that by using an appropriate objective function in the genetic algorithm, it is possible to generate such optimized value of gains that will make the fuzzy controller robust. Its robustness is verified by varying the gain of the plant K. With this system it is observed that the best robustness results were obtained using ITAE as the objective function. The results have been simulated using MATLAB and the data has also been presented in the tabular form for better analysis and comparison purpose.
