Widely tunable, single-longitudinal mode Brillouin/Erbium-doped fiber laser

Using SBS in an 8-m highly nonlinear fiber and an unpumped EDF loop, a single-longitudinal mode fiber laser is demonstrated. Wide tuning over ~30 nm is achieved with a linewidth reduction ratio larger than 100.
