A sparse view approach for microwave diffraction tomography

A sparse view approach for the reconstruction of object profile has been proposed for Microwave Diffraction Tomography. The forward scattered fields are acquired through sensing elements with the object illuminated from limited number of angles by a plane wave. A Re-weighted Basic Pursuit Algorithm is used to solve the inverse ill-posed problem. It is shown that the reconstructed image preserves the features of the original even after reducing the number of views by a factor of three. This further leads to reduction in data acquisition time and computational complexity.
