Miniaturized strongly coupled magnetic resonant systems for wireless power transfer

Compact design on Conformal Strongly Coupled Magnetic Resonant (CSMCR) systems for wireless power transfer (WPT) are proposed and summarized in this paper. Operating frequencies can be tuned to lower frequencies based on the properties of planar CSCMR systems, therefore the system volume will shrink. In addition, methods for miniaturized CSCMR systems based on novel topology and high permeability substrate are proposed. Compared to one traditional CSCMR system, the proposed methods shift the operating frequency from 83 MHz to 33 MHz and 54 MHz, with efficiencies of 67.8% and 84.0%, respectively.
