Constrained optimisation of a linear actuator: comparison of two methods to deal with implicit parameters in the analytical model

This paper presents two methods of handling analytical equations systems with implicit parameters in order to use a gradient optimisation algorithm for the constrained design of a linear magnetic actuator described by its analytical model. These two methods are compared on the criteria of computation time and quality of convergence.
