Far infrared radiation from uniaxially compressed p-type GE

The hot-holes radiative transitions between subbands of Ge valence band have previously been studied mainly in crossed electric and magnetic fields. The interest to this research is due to stimulated far IR emission observed in Ge [l]. In this report far IR radiation from uniaxially stressed p-type germanium in the absence of magnetic field was investigated [2, see also 3].
