Gyrotron research at the naval research laboratory

During the past decade, a tremendous progress has been made in the development of the cyclotron resonance masers (CRM) as high efficiency, high power coherent sources in the millimeter and submillimeter wavelengths. Neither hers nor slow wave devices can provide high power and high efficiency in this spectral range. A variety of CRMs hve been developed employing different electrodynamic systems.
