The planar orotron at millimeter and submillimeter wavelengths

Summary form only given, as follows. The planar orotron is an electron-beam-driven grating-loaded planar open resonator. These structures may form the basis of sources in the centimeter- through the infrared-wavelength regions. A review of the design parameters and experimental progress will be presented.
