Economic analysis of voltage sag loss and treatment based on on-site data

This paper firstly discusses about the impacts of voltage sags on electricity users. Combined with economic survey methods of power quality in domestic and foreign countries and the actual situation of electricity users suffered of voltage sags, a calculation method of the losses due to voltage sags by questionnaires and face-to-face interviews is described. Then, cost-benefit analysis of voltage sag treatment is discussed by assessment of both costs and benefits. Economic analysis of voltage sag treatment case is also presented. Results show that voltage sags may cause huge losses to industrial users of continuous production process-types and benefits of voltage sag treatment are generally much more than their costs.
