A Pixel Value Ordering Predictor for High-Capacity Reversible Data Hiding

Reversible data hiding (RDH), also known as lossless data embedding, is increasingly attracting more attentions of academic and industry researchers intrigued by their affordances and reach. Recently, various pixel value ordering (PVO) predictors for RDH methods with remarkable embedding performance have been proposed. These PVO-based schemes have good performance in high fidelity images but low in the embedding capacity. Therefore, this paper proposed an extension of PVO RDH. Instead of modifying the maximum and minimum values of each block, we design a scheme to all pixels within every block to improve the payload but reserved good image quality. As a result, the proposed scheme is significantly better than that of the Li et al. method in terms of embedding capacity while keeping distortion low.
