Photovoltaic panel model using Matlab

Paper presents a complete power generation system designed with photovoltaic panels (PV). The most important target of our work is to study the influence on electricity generation efficiency of the solar radiation and temperature variations during a year for a specific location. As a modeling environment it was used Matlab/Simulink software package. The first step was to design a system consisting of a variable number of PV. To achieve greater accuracy, the study was started from a single photoelectric cell modeled most realistic is possible. Once the photoelectric cell is modeled, next pass is to create a model for an entire photoelectric panel. For this purpose it was used information from datasheet of the panel PWX500, which is often used by green energy producers from Romania. To better adapt to environmental conditions in Romania as information on solar radiation and temperature variations during a year were used historical data recorded for a site in the county Harghita, Romania. After running the tests were concluded some results that are shown in final section (Results).
