Organizational culture and the acceptance of agile methodology

In the world of software development, agile methodology has proved its ability to overcome many of the problems that have become dominant in the software industry. However, the implementation of agile methodology is not an easy task, since it is necessary to change the attitude and values of all members of the organization. The purpose of this study is to understand how culture can influence on the acceptance of agile methodology within Tunisian enterprises in the software development sector. We conducted five case studies based on semi-structured interviews. The results revealed three types of culture noted; group culture, development culture and rational culture, promoting the acceptance of agile methodology so that the hierarchical hinders acceptance.
