Abstract:
The 3GPP Specification TS 36.521-1 Radio Transmission and Reception LTE User Equipment (UE) conformance specification defines the measurement practices for LTE terminals with regard to their transmitter and receiver characteristics along with performance characteristics, as a part of the 3GPP Long Term Evolution(LTE) standard. This paper gives brief description about the RF key factors of LTE UE and the considerations of transmitter and receiver that are derived from the viewpoint of RF. In order for an LTE UE to maintain high performance, the transceiver design requirements such as reference sensitivity and maximum input level for receiver whereas Output Power, Absolute and Relative Power Tolerance for transmitter along with spectrum emissions and blocking characteristics are considered. The UE transceiver is implemented and then evaluated for its performance as per the requirements by emulating Radio Transmission and Reception scenarios with multiple system bandwidth and parameter settings.
