Double lock-in concept for MORE glucose detection

We previously proposed a new approach to optical glucose sensing based on the fact that glucose solutions have a magnetic optical rotatory effect (MORE). The proportionality with the glucose concentration was found to be linear with single and double MORE at physiologic concentrations. Use of MORE has a number of potential advantages over the conventional optical rotatory effect including improved spatial resolution and sensitivity. We introduce the concept of using double lock-in amplifiers to separate a small, narrow band signal from interfering noise in this study.
