Reentry trajectory optimization for hypersonic vehicle based on improved mesh refinement techniques

The paper applies the improved mesh refinement algorithm to the multi-objective reentry trajectory optimization problem with multiple path and terminal constraints for the three-degree-of-freedom model of a hypersonic vehicle X-33. The trajectory optimization problem is disrcetized into the nonlinear programming problem (NLP) on dyadic grids by Runge-Kutta method. The simulation results show that the computational efficiency is high. The path and terminal constraints are well satisfied, and the precision of this trajectory optimization is high. It has also been demonstrated that the proposed algorithm has sufficient robustness for state perturbations.
