Cooperative guidance and control for rendezvous with uncooperative target based on Augment Proportional Navigation

This paper presents a guidance and control scheme based on three dimensional Augment Proportion Navigation (APN) for rendezvous with uncooperative target based on rotating line of sight coordinates. Application of classic proportion navigation is expanded to rendezvous with introduction of sliding mode control along line-of-sight. The algorithm can deal with the maneuvering target by measuring only elevation and azimuth angles between each chaser and target. Cooperative scheme provides the distance measurement by estimation which improves the observability of angle only navigation. Simulation scenarios with various maneuverability and control parameter settings are conducted to demonstrate the efficiency of proposed guidance and control system.
