Distributed power flow considering network loss allocation and load factor of subareas

Distributed power flow is useful for coordinated analyses among interconnected power systems. In this work, a new algorithm for distributed power flow is proposed. By adjusting the injected power into the boundary buses, the proposed algorithm can coordinate the local power flow calculation of subareas. For unified power flow solution, network loss allocation among slack buses of subareas are also modelled into boundary coordination equations. Moreover, as improper initial guess of boundary injected power would lead to divergence of interactive coordination, adjustable load factors of subareas are also adopted to enable flat start of distributed power flow. The Jacobian-Free Newton-GMRES (m) (JFNG) is applied to solve the boundary coordination equations. Tests results with IEEE 39 bus and 118 bus systems validate effectiveness and accuracy of proposed method.
