Surface charge behaviors of polyimide/Al2O3 nanocomposite films after water absorption

This paper mainly studies the dissipation characteristics of the surface charge of polyimide/Al
2
O
3
in humid environment. The polyimide (PI) films were prepared by incorporating 12 wt% nano Al
2
O
3
particles with PI. Then the films were immersed in high purity water for different time to obtain the immersed specimens. The surface charge dynamic characteristics of PI under pulse with different frequency were measured. The water absorption of the nanocomposite was higher than the original PI. Obtained results show that with increasing the immersion time, the dissipation time decreased a lot for the nanocomposite specimens and decreased much slower for the original specimens.
