Image Recognition By Human Decision Makers

New technology permits the design of systems which project a human essence into regions that are incompatible with his corporeal presence. On the basis of received optical images the operator acts in a situation assessment and resource allocation role. This paper provides the results of a study of an analytical model of human response for tasks of this type. Simulation and an empirical study using a representative test subject confirm the behavioral properties of the model.
