Duty Cycle Based Digital Multiplexing Technique for Advanced Communication System

This paper analyses a multiplexing technique based on duty cycle division, known as duty cycle division multiplexing (DCDM). This new technique is studied for various perspectives of theoretical and simulation analysis on the basis of signal energy and symbol error rate (SER) taken as its performance measure. A wireless channel based on free space propagation model is considered for simulation studies. DCDM is compared with multilevel M-ary as well as conventional TDM techniques for performance gains. Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) is used to evaluate the DCDM merits against data rates. This technique is effective in using the time slot and spectrum in an efficient manner. The simulation result shows that DCDM has reduced SER than TDM and FDM.
