Measurement of the Comprehensive Viscoelastic Properties of Advanced EMC Using FBG Sensor

The advanced fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor system is proposed and implemented to measure the comprehensive viscoelastic properties of epoxy molding compound. With the method, two of elastic constants can be measured directly from a single specimen configuration: temperature-and time-dependent Young's modulus and Bulk modulus. The results of an advanced EMC are presented. A supplementary experiment is also conducted to verify the validity of the measured properties. The experimental results match very well to the numerical predictions, which corroborate the accuracy of the measured quantities.
