Evaluation of FED-CASE - A Tool to Convert Class Diagram into Structural Coding

Model driven development has become a key practice in software engineering field due to its nature of complexity reduction and comprehensive structure-based development approach. In addition to it, automated tools for UML modeling are becoming popular within engineers and the tools which provide an additional feature of forward and reverse engineering are the basic prerequisite for many organizations. But these tools are not so common and engineering community is still using conventional UML modeling tools which provide the option to only draw the models. In this paper, an extensive analysis of a CASE tool is provided and evaluation of the tool is done with a solid comparison with other UML-based modeling tools been developed so far. We have provided a broad comparative analysis between modeling based development and development without modeling and a list of numerous paybacks which modeling based development approach has over the development without using UML models. In short, we are introducing a tool which is capable to convert a Class Diagram model into coding structure to investigate that how model driven development is tranquil for building successful systems. A plus point is the flair of reverse engineering in which coding structure is automatically converted into class diagram.
