Precision μV-synthesizer based on a pulse-driven Josephson array

In this paper, we describe the development of a precision μV-synthesizer. The synthesizer is based on a pulse-driven Josephson array covering wide voltage and frequency ranges from nV to mV and DC to audio frequencies, respectively. We demonstrate 2-mA-wide current margins for the pulse-driven system and easy calibration of typical null detectors such as nanovoltmeters or lock-in amplifiers. Uncertainties at nV level can be achieved depending on the instruments used.
