First metrological applications of the PTB 1 V Josephson arbitrary waveform synthesizer

We report on the first two applications in metrology of the PTB 1 V Josephson waveform synthesizer. First, a direct comparison with the ac quantum voltmeter was carried out. The result at 250 Hz was (+3.5 ± 11.7) ×10

(k = 1). In addition, we have performed ac-dc transfer measurements with a thermal converter. A transconductance amplifier was used to provide the current required by the thermal converter. Preliminary results indicate differences for the frequency range from 125 Hz and 750 Hz below 1 ×10

with a type A uncertainty of 0.3 ×10
^-6
(k = 1).
