VRC measurement for 3.5 mm one-port coaxial system using network analyzer fitted with Type K connector

This paper describes Voltage Reflection Coefficient (VRC) measurement for 3.5 mm one-port coaxial system using network analyzer fitted with Type K connector by incorporating measurement uncertainty due to discontinuity between the two different connector types. Connector simulation models were made and the discontinuity was analyzed by finite element method. Maximum VRC deviation in the presence of the discontinuity was simulated to estimate the measurement uncertainty in accordance with GUM. VRC Measurement for some 3.5 mm loads was made to verify the uncertainty component due to this discontinuity.
