Notice of Retraction: The study of educational implications in the design of Taiwanese nuptial tributes

The attempt of the study is to design and modify the traditional Taiwanese nuptial tributes in order to bring out its educational implication. Along with the change of time, the wedding custom has altered with the various affections from parents to offspring and this study is aiming to discover the need and desire towards the wedding gifts from parents' perspective in hopes of establishing a non-verbal communication between parents and offspring through a common "visual" language by the use of "Fortune Chicken", since the pronunciation of "Fortune Chicken" possesses a homophone of "Settle Down" in Taiwanese language. G. G. Darkenwald and S. B. Merriam, two American scholars, defined the parental education towards "mature" children as a meaningful, purposeful, organized and persistent occurrence pointing at imparting and obtaining knowledge as its main objective. Hence, in the Taiwanese wedding ritual, the gift of "Fortune Chicken" signifies "the responsibility taken as the process of growing up proceeds in the adult world, the continuation of learning process serves the goal of improving the knowledge, attitude, value and skill." In the process of selecting wedding gifts for the children, other than blessing, the educational implication also passes on through the gifts and only if gift is being treated as what it is can those flourish and these are immeasurable. Handmade fiber art is the best among all the selections, not only does it own the educational implication of both visual and tactile abstract senses, but also does it possess cultural value, it presents a sense of value enhancement. The children will feel the meaning and connotation when receiving the gift, under the blessing of the marriage, naturally, the gift has taken a significant part in the heart of the married couple. Since, the gift not only creates a social relationship, but spiritual or psychological also. The character and power within us can be correlated with gifts and because of that, wedding gifts are often associated with blessing and education from the parents, the relationship established by "Fortune Chicken" helps to proliferate the feeling of parents' love. However, appreciation, expectation, recollection and emotion can all be defined as smoothing and prolonging the relationship between the parents and the children, hoping that the daughter would bear the lesson instilled by her parents in mind in her new family and maintain a good "Home".
