Mono-Pulse Comparator in Rectangular Co-Axial Guide for Satellite Ground Station

This letter describes the design and development of a low loss, medium power, robust Mono-Pulse Comparator (MPC) implemented in rectangular co-axial guide at S-band. It is designed to operate at a power level of around 200 W from 2.05 GHz to 2.3 GHz with an insertion loss less than 0.25 dB. To provide superior tracking performance it is designed with amplitude imbalance less than 0.25 dB and phase imbalance within 5° in receive band. The MPC is used in satellite ground station for tracking and commanding of low earth orbiting satellites. The measured results conform to the specifications and the same is also presented.
