High efficiency compact Bragg sensor

We propose a highly efficient compact sensor that is based on Bragg gratings. The high efficiency represent the coupling power to the grating waveguide. We achieved high coupling efficiency approaching 50% with relatively small dimensions. The design is characterized by its easy fabrication techniques due to the reliable dimensions, this in turn can help in having it being integrated with other electronic components on the same chip. Also, this coupler has the potential to be used as a chemical sensor.
