Analysis of reaction-wheels imbalance torque effects on satellite attitude control system

High-speed rotation of the central rotor in the reaction wheel causes imbalance torque to reduce the attitude control accuracy. Firstly, the attitude control accuracy requirement of high resolution imaging satellite with high resolution integration (TDI) CCD camera is given. Then, considering as much as possible disturbances inside the reaction-wheels, the dynamic equation of satellite attitude control system is setup. By analyzing the imbalance force of the reaction-wheel, three important factors are concluded as satellite moment of inertia, position vector of reaction-wheel and rotation speed of reaction-wheel, which the attitude control error is mainly related with. At last, the simulation results illustrate the correctness of the conclusion.
