Observer based model predictive control of a MGT-CCHP system

Micro turbine-based combined cooling, heating and power (MGT-CCHP) system has characteristics of large inertia and strong coupling, which are all along big problems in industrial control. Conventional DMC algorithm may have some limitations in this situation. In this paper, an observer based MPC (OBMPC) algorithm is used to deal with these problems. Transfer functions of MGT-CCHP system are firstly obtained by identification. Then it carries out some simulations to demonstrate how this algorithm manages to avoid these limitations. It can be concluded that the new algorithm can effectively overcome the problems and improve control performance.
